Basically used a Cooler Master Storm Trooper Case in my new build.

Build is running perfectly apart from one issue ......... if I take off the side panel the screen goes blank and I must reset after which it wont boot to the OS I can access bios etc but when it goes to boot the OS only a flashing line appears on the screen.

As soon as I put back on the side panel and reset it runs perfectly.

Some sort of weird grounding issue perhaps , does the panel touch off anything else in the case when it is fitted on.

Nope not touching off anything, its the oddest issue I have come across, I would of thought if it was a grounding issue it would show up more often its just nuts, its like clockwork a few seconds after you remove the side panel the screen goes blank and the monitor just searches for signal, and if you reset and it reaches bios that's fine but it wont load the OS until the panel is put back on. its nuts

I've got nothing else I'm afraid, can't say I've ever heard of anything like that before. You'd imagine there must some sort of static build-up going on in the case that is only getting discharged when the side panel is on, but that doesn't really make much sense either since the whole damn structure is metal so how could the side panel possibly make a difference.

Just to update on this, faulty graphics card was the issue.

I noticed the temps were running a little hot when it wasn't even being put under any stress, upon further investigation I spotted one of the two fans on it wasn't working no matter how much load/stress the card was put under.

Swapped for a different graphics card and problem instantly disappeared.

Strange problem, with a odd solution.
