Bins/rubbish help

My dad has been in a bit of financial trouble the past couple of years and in an effort to cut costs he cancelled any bins he had, instead he just puts his rubbish in the bins in the apartment blocks he works in. This isn't always possible and sometimes (a lot lately) there are bags of rubbish left lying around the back garden for weeks. To be honest, the house is a mess. I visit regularly and clean but not having somewhere to put the rubbish is driving me insane. I don't drive so cant even bring them to the dump.
I've a small bit of spare cash so was going to just pay for his bins for the year, but if I ring a company now will they know he hasn't been paying for the past two years and query it? He also hasn't paid his property tax and I don't want to get him into any trouble....

I live in a rented apartment so no idea how the bins work...Is it connected to the council or all done privately?

It might help if we know where you live.

Bins are usually done privately for houses anyway - well in Dublin at least. And there are a few to chose from - but check to see if they charge per lift/ weight or a flat annual fee as the bill can creep up.

With regard property tax I think, but am open to correction, if he doesn't pay it will be taken from his salary eventually.

I think you should have no trouble organising it for a year flat fee. Just give the different companies that service your dads area a ring. I think it would be a lovely thing for you to do

No, the company will have no idea. Your father could have been with a different bin company for all they know.

Bin companies aren't connected with the council, they are private companies, so again they have no idea and no interest in whether he has paid his property tax.

BUT the Revenue will eventually catch up with him for the property tax.

    Its Dublin 24.

Thanks for the help, will have a look to see what suits.

Believe me, if I could afford to pay his property tax as well I would! The rubbish needs sorting first before the neighbour's really have a fit. Its not even about the money with the property tax, he's just so angry with how the country has been run and with how bad things have turned out for him that he refuses to pay it. Stresses me out to the nines, because I know it's all going to come back on him!
