sky box issue

Am having problems with the box might take 3 or 4 goes to turn on and sometimes starts recording by itself.Would sky replace it or would buying one be risky.

Unless its under warranty sky will not replace it free of charge. You say it takes a few times to turn on? Are you unplugging it at nite? You shouldnt as the box will receive software updates late at night etc...

Also if you are unplugging it will take a few mins before it will allow you to turn it on as it will take time for the psu to heat up and allows the box time to check the hd is intact etc before it turns on.
