    Apologies if this has been linked before. Found this while surfing about taking 'night sky' photographs. Free download and i have to say it seems brilliant. You can search any location in the world or just drop a pin there then it will tell you the exact time and direction of the rising and setting of the sun and moon on any date as well as the phase of the moon etc. Very handy for knowing exactly when the sun or moon will be in the best position for a great landscape shot before you head out to your precise location. Anyway thought it might be of interest to some.

    Its a fantastic app. I've been using it for a quite a while now.
    My iphone version cost a few bob, but its worth it when pre-empting a sunrise

    Yeah, I see the app costs about €7.99 but I think it would be good to have to hand. Another thing you can do is import KML files of locations where others have found to be good locations for photos which cuts out a lot of the work of looking for good spots. Good idea very well executed.
