I recently submitted a PRTB dispute against LL.

Whats the done thing here? Tell the LL the dispute has been lodged in the case he/she might cough up, or sit on it until proceedings commence?

No. I'd leave it as a fun surprise for them. Keep it formal.

Inform him in writing and send a copy to the PRTB. It would look better on your part.

    Ex-landlord then surely?
And presumeably you've already made efforts to contact them and get your deposit returned?
If so, a communication telling them that you've submitted this might get them to respond.

Correct on all of the above.

    Thanks for the feedback everyone.

    Just to conclude this....

I got a call from the PRTB couple of weeks after my submission.

He noted I'd selected Judication, but offered to ring the agent who wrongly retained my money to see if he could talk her around.

She stood by her reasoning until he informed her she'd have to take a day out and plead her case in court.

She decided that was not in her best interest.

    I lodged the check yesterday.

PRTB were excellent in this case.
