What browser do you use?

I've been a long time user of Chrome both on mac and PC. However I haven't been impressed by the amount of resources Chrome uses. I've noticed that battery life when using chrome is not great, and it heats up the macbook a lot, especially viewing Youtube.

On a whim yesterday I stumbled onto Apple.com's Safari page and decided to try it. After only a few minutes I noticed a significant change. I'm getting much longer battery life estimates and the machine is staying cool and quiet. Youtube videos use 10-15% less CPU than in Chrome. And above all it's very snappy and fluid, especially on content heavy sites like facebook.

I am well impressed. I think I'll be switching to Safari for the next while!

    What browser do you use?

FireFox, Safari and God help us, IE when running Windoze XP with VMWare Fusion. I've used SeaMonkey, OmniWeb, iCab and Crashes-a-lot Opera in the past; essentially any browser but Chrome (ABBC).

I like the layout of the IE11 app, but it lacks so many options and features and can't install add ons or apps. I use firefox mostly but IE when I have to. I wouldn't touch chrome, I rather google didn't have a record of everything I have ever searched for. And I wouldn't use safari in windows because it is not really safe, it's designed for mac and therefore severely lacks the security features needed for windows.

If you really like chrome Comodo Dragon is much better and based off the same Chromium browser that chrome is.

    Safari

It does what I need it to do with no frills on the edges

Chrome has had huge slowdown over the last year or two, but I cant seem to stick with any other browser but it. It's shortcuts & small features keep reeling me in, as well as its extensibility. I have to use them all regularly as part of my job anyway, but Chrome is still probably my favourite.

Try Comodo Dragon, it's faster than chrome and it's mostly the same other than what goes on under the hood, and it's much more secure, chrome is probably nearly top for security anyway.

Safari has been my default browser for a few years now. I used to use to go back and forth to Chrome but stopped due to battery drain issues and privacy concerns. I still have something of a love-hate relationship with Safari, though. The interface needs a major overhaul.

    Safari here.

I used to be a Firefox user way back when it was good due to extension support. Although now with Safari having all the useful extensions, it was a no brainer to use Safari.

Plus iCloud tab syncing with iOS makes using safari an even better option.

Used firefox for years, moved to chrome about 4 years ago. Chrome started to get really bloated in recent months so I've moved to Safari. Happy with safari except for one thing - no favicons on bookmarks/favourties bar. Drives me mad

I mostly use Safari - nice and light on the macbook pro. Doesn't drain the battery much. I only use Chrome for the likes of Netflix with a plugin that allows me to use the American version of said site..

Me too. Used to use Camino back in the day when Safari was rubbish (version 4.x), but it works well these days, so no reason to try anything else for now.
