    Hi

Thinking of going to France next year and getting a Ferry.
I have 3 small kids, 3, 2 an a new born, I am just wondering what the size of the cabins are and if we would fit into 1 cabin. New born will be able to sleep in sleep Buggy.

    Will 1 cabin do?
How many beds in a cabin?

    Cheers

I don't know the specifics on individual vessels, but in general the differences between the cabin sizes tend to relate to the amount of space between the end of the bed and the door. In your case you definitely don't want to shoot for the smaller size as you will literally have no room to move if you have a buggy in there.

It's pretty hard to describe, but imagine looking in from the door. To the sides you have the bed. In the centre you have an aisle wide enough for a person (or a buggy). At the far end you have a small table against the wall. If you park the buggy in front of this then more or less half the bed length is gone from your circulation space.

In the larger cabins, there tends to be more space at the foot of the bed - hopefully big enough for a buggy while allowing normal circulation space down the centre.

In short - don't go for 2* or 3* if possible. The difference is a lower level in the boat (normally) and less circulation space.

    I agree.
A standard 4 berth cabin on the Irish Ferries or Celtic Link ships will be very tight when you add
    a cot or buggy.

The large 4 berth cabins on Celtic Link and the 4* cabins on Irish Ferries will be much more comfortable. I don't know the Brittany Ferries boat at all, so I cant compare.

You are going to be on the ship for 18 hours, and with young kids, you will spend a lot of time in the cabin, A small cabin will drive you mad.

    Thanks all
We will be going with LD ferries the new company from Rosslare to St Nazarie so we may book two cabins as a precaution.
