    Hi,

It looks like the clutch is gone on my 2005 c4.
The garage has suggested that the gear selector cables for 1st and 2nd may need to be replaced.
Can anyone hazard a guess for how much this would cost?

    Thanks

    What symptoms are you getting?

If you end up changing the clutch you should probably do the dual mass flywheel as well, the whole lot should cost you from around €850 upwards, depending on where you go.

Thanks for that. I got a quote of €900.

The mechanic said theres a solid fly wheel there so no need to change.
It seems to be the labour thats adding up.The mechanic thinks there could be 9 hours in it.

Would be very suprised if the labour was more than €300 if they know what they are at

The last one we did had a dual mass flywheel. It was 2008 though. We have never done a 2005 C4 but I thought they were all dual mass to be honest. Maybe someone else can confirm 100% one way or another.

Well as far as i know Citroen along with Peogeot use the 1.6 diesel engine from the Ford Focus and it comes in 2 variations 90bhp(No DPF) and 110bhp(DPF), can' see the more powerful one not using a DMF, unless the garage is telling you porky pies and wants to save some money by lumping you with an aftermarket solid flywheel

It's actually the opposite, that engine is a Citroen and Peugeot design. Many people seem to think it's a Ford engine.

The Ford/PSA 1.4HDI/TDCI and the Toyota 1.4 D4D are totally different engines.

This is the info I came across....
    "... 9HX (9H02) = DV6ATED4 = 1.6HDi 16V 90/92 KM no DMF
    . 9HZ (9H01) = DV6TED4 = 1.6HDi 16V 109 KM with DMF
    9HV (9H01) = DV6TED4B = 1.6HDi 16V 90 KM with DMF
    9HY (9H01) = DV6TED4 = 1.6HDi 16V 109 KM with DMF..."
I can't confirm because my 100 k miler is still on its original clutch.
