    Why?

I think it's between him and Dynaste and I think Dynaste might nick it.

Colin Tizzard reported at todays yard open day that there was a virus in his yard and Cue Card may have had it when he ran in Exeter.

He did say that it was a concern but I didn't think there was any suggestion he'd be pulled from the King George.

Is the OP regurgitating this or does he have solid information?

The virus didn't appear to effect him in Haydock.

Their horse ran well in Chelt on Friday Theatreguide. Still it would be a concern.
I wouldn't back him at 5/2 virus or not.
Think Captain Chris/al ferof e/w will be my play.

Have had 50ew on dynaste at 7/1 since august and a small ew saver on al ferof at 14/1. Fingers crossed.

Couldn't believe his price on betfair...6-1
Wasn't he 16's before he ran in that concessionary race..raging I didn't get it

Was keen on Al Ferof and Cue Card at the prices before their last runs. Obviously Cue Card deserves to be his price now but think Al Ferof's price offers poor enough value given he's yet to run over trip (although 99% sure to get it) and won a poor match on his comeback. 5/1 is a bad price for his first foray into this level of company IMO.

Captain Chris and Mount Benbulben (dodgy, I know) both at 16/1, for me.

It's common knowledge there is a virus.

Tizzard stated 'Cue Card doesn't have Virus' as far as we know.
This info alone would make anyone question backing him.

What else could you possibly know that would make this any worse???Do you know his vet? Has he scoped badly?

I wouldn't be surprised if horse still won but definitely wouldn't back him at that price.

Irrespective of whether Tizzard's yard has a virus or not, I'd be against Cue Card purely on the fact that he was beaten 20 lengths in last year's King George.

Looking at the severe weather warning it could be a case of finding a horse that likes a bog for Kempton and Leopardstown over the Christmas period.

    Mount Benbulben good e/w

    Mount Benbulben good e/w

Given that it now looks likely his price wont contract much, might be best waiting till day and backing him with faller insurance.

I'd say weather will have a big impact I reckon

Id have to be siding with Al Ferof in this. 3 miles on a flat track should be perfect for him!

This information as good as the get on "At Fisher Cross" info you passed on with same confidence previously.

Heard the horse was prime as early as yesterday evening, looks very well and that's from on the ground visual of the horse.

BTW - I have an interest on Al Ferof at 12's already and am looking forward to the race, think Cue Card can be backed on the day as a saver the winner is between those 2 for me.

Would anyone else be in favour of banning the phrases "info", "Source", "word" etc from the forum apart from on the Tips thread

How the hell is this "info" when the RP had a story about Tizzard's yard yesterday

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 119 ✭✭Malarkey121

Is that in relation to my post above? I was just trying to be helpful as the original poster said lay the horse as virus in stable etc..
I haven't even backed it (yet), I will refrain from posting if your going to get so worked up about it.

No in relation to the OP

Personally, I have backed Cue Card a number of times as I love his style of horse, big and rangey, travels well and picks up when he needs to. I was harping on all of last season how he would come good and he has proven me correct. As for the bug in the yard , it was suggested by Colin Tizzard that this could explain Cue Card's lacklustre run on debut this season so it would not worry me too much and i will be backing him for what its worth.

Outside him I think Riverside Theatre if he runs will get a race run to suit and could go well at a nice price in the conditions if you can forgive him last seasons form where something was clearly amiss. His recent win was a nice one if not overly impressive but he displayed that old trait of continually finding more when coming off the bridle which was absent last season which is an encouraging sign in my view.

Alferof for me and menorah as a big outsider to place

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 119 ✭✭Malarkey121

Apologies Colonel, I was worried that you took my post as being something else.

FWIW - people who post up this wont win a race or will win this doing handstands with just a rumour or a whisper or a nod and a wink I usually pass them over and take no notice.

Hucklebuck thanks for that - I would be interested in your reasons why he cant win the KG in your opinion if you mean CC, I was informed the same before the Betfair chase but I stuck with the form book and it paid out 9/1 to me he has improved and could do so again, last year's KG it was clear he hit a few and ran badly so in my mind he had a valid excuse.
I would not discount him this year although I have noticed the form of Al Ferof and like that one hopefully he turns up fit and well as if he won it would be a very nice return for me.

In my own view I may back Cue to have the race covered more but of course it all depends on what I consider value.
I also respect Dynaste and Mount Benbulben in the race I am not totally discounting the form book on any of those mentioned.

Yep, and some days it's hit and hit. Will know after a couple of fences whether I should be ripping up my docket or not. Jockey has to be a negative too.
