Do I need original driving licence to hire a car?

Hi All, I am flying back from Canada next Saturday into Dublin airport and I am looking at hiring a car for a couple of days. I only have a copy of my Irish driving licence because I misplaced the original. Will I still be able to hire a car or are they pretty strict? Cheers, Mike.

Hi All,

You won't be able to hire a car without an original licence. Do you have a Canadian one?

No canadian licence yet, I am not that long here.

Looks like the bus for me so until I get a new driving licence.
