Basically, I'm watching Knowing Me Know Yule with Alan Partridge for the first time and it got me thinking that there must be loads of Christmas specials out there I haven't seen.

    My own personal favourites in particular order;
Blackadder's Christmas Carol, Creature Comforts Merry Christmas, A Christmassy Ted, the Community Christmas episodes are all fantastic in my mind, and I've always enjoyed Hancock's Half Hour radio specials (Hancock's Happy Christmas, Bill and Father Christmas, The Christmas Club)

The Royle Family one where Nana dies.

Brilliantly acted, brilliant use of humour and pathos.

Edit: That was an Xmas special, wasn't it?

Always enjoyed the Extras Christmas special.
This scene is relevant given the x-factor final is this evening to those avoiding it.

    Always Sunny In Philadelphia

Because nothing beats Charlie's breakdown in the mall... "DIDYOU****MYMOMSANTA?!"

...that or the part where Frank emerges from the couch. Or the claymation sequence. Or, just see it!

No it wasn't but my God that was a sad episode..Acting was always amazing in The Royle Family but they cocked it up in last year's special...absolutely dire and that's hard for me to say as I was a huge Royle Family fan.

Any of the One Foot in the Grave Christmas specials were always a treat.
The Only Fools and Horses one was great too.

"Rodney, do you like your roast potatoes REALLY well done?"
    :D:D

I heard that and I've avoided it for that reason.:(

The one where Denise goes into labour was fantastic. Crying and laughing in one episode. The scene with Ricky Tomlinson in the bathroom was so well acted, very touching.

"Are you sure it wasn't just a really big pi**, Denise?"
    Classic.
I have the boxset and I love getting it out, especially at Christmas...just a shame it went downhill the last two years.
