Huawei E3131 won't connect to Laptop

Hi a friend of mine recently got a Huawei E3131 dongle from o2. While it works fine on his Desktop PC running Windows XP, he cannot get it to work with his laptop running Windows 8. Connection light is on the dongle and the laptop has installed and picked up the dongle, however when he goes to browse the web it won't…

Hi a friend of mine recently got a Huawei E3131 dongle from o2. While it works fine on his Desktop PC running Windows XP, he cannot get it to work with his laptop running Windows 8. Connection light is on the dongle and the laptop has installed and picked up the dongle, however when he goes to browse the web it won't work... Any ideas?
