I'm gonna pop into the Abbots Ale House (offie) during the week to get a few Christmas beers.

Might pick up 12 or so bottles.

What selection would you recommend ?

Trouble brewing dark arts porter is quite tasty (they have it on tap in cassidys westmorland st) eirdingener. Oktoberfest was quite nice this year (if you can still find it about) think they done a Christmas beer last year, might be doing it again.
There's another one(cant think of the brewer, defo irish though) chocolate caramel stout, sounds wrong but actually really good.

I picked up a selection the other day but have just had 2 so far st feuillen Xmas wasn't anything special and st martins Xmas which I really enjoyed. A hint of spice but not overpowering
Had the de struis Xmas a while back and would recommend that too

It's not a Xmas beer but pick up a bottle of viven imperial ipa. You won't be disappointed

I had a bottle of O'Hara's Winter Star, very tasty spiced ale that goes well with food, also give Sierra Nevad's "Big Foot" is very strong about 9% I think but a very tasty hoppy barley wine that goes perfect on a long cold night

I didn't expect to as the label and title really put me off, but I quite liked 'Criminally Bad Elf', a barleywine and 'Insanely Bad Elf', an Imperial Red. They're both high alcohol, around 9 or ten percent, and quite sweet but not cloying. Didn't like the OHaras Winter Star at all.
