Zanussi Washing Machine problem

We have a 4 year old Zanussi Electrolux Washing machine that keeps stopping before the rinse cycle and goes to finish.

If the program is reset a good few times it eventually stops skipping the rinse cycle and finishes as normal.

However this is happening constantly and can take all day to finish one or two washes.

There are no error codes coming up and physically everything seems fine with the machine.

Other days there could be no problems at all and works fine all day.

Anyone any ideas as to what could be wrong?

    Thanks in advance.

Is the drain pump working properly, I had a similar problem a few weeks ago and swapping the drain pump solved it.

The pump is a magnetic rotor type and if it ever jams, it can become too magnetised and is unable to turn correctly and will stop and start pumping randomly. This was causing the program to act erraticly sometimes just going to the end. The pump also hummed loudly in operation.

Will check that out and have a listen to the pump with cover off thanks.

Remove the filter and drain residue water and physically look in the filter housing to the pump impeller, check for small items that may have passed the filter even string and wooly deposits can cause the impeller to stick erratically.

ive had this a few times and even putting the machine into diagnostic mode wont show up the fault
its normally a fault in the motor ,wrong resistance reading or earth leakage on one of the windings
just before your rinse cycle the machine moves from agitating to high spin . the fault is in that winding of the motor and can be intermitant . only cure is to replace the motor, a lot of the insight washers are showing this fault as its a different motor used to other models of zanuusi .

other thing you can check is the solenoid for earth leakage ,but normally its the motor I have found

Got a guy, checked error codes by pressing reset and start buttons together and e84 came up, need new part costing €75 and €25 to fit, its the part that controls the cycles, timing etc im told.

My zanussi washing machine won't let me open the door! The wash is finished, but the door seems to be locked. I tried running "spin" 8 minutes, but that didn't help. There's an icon of a padlock on the front. I tried that - no luck. I tried holding it down for 10 seconds and got an extra child lock. I repeated the operation and removed the child lock, but the door is still locked and won't open.

    Any ideas?

    JJ
