    I have a few....

Brock Lesnar Vs Big Show from Survivor Serious, 2002. Awesome match with the Paul Heyman interference.

Vince McMahon Vs Stone Cold, St. Valentines Days Massacre, 1999

Hardcore Holly Vs Al Snow (same event)

Triple H Vs Cactus Jack from Royal Rumble 2000

Cactus and HHH from the rumble is a belter of a match. Great choice.

Mine was the Battle Royal from Albert Hall won by the Bulldog. Had it on tape and watched it at least once a month. Bonus part was that it had ads from 1991 on it, great nostalgia!

Summerslam 2002 was the only wrestling source i had for about 3 years. I thought all PPV's would be that standard

I had a video of WCW Souled Out 2000 which I watched at least five times.

HIAC 98 - Taker vs Mankind

i'd imagine many were like me, I just couldnt stop watching that match. For 13yr old BH that crossed over into being more than just PW

Razor Ramon v Shawn at summerslam 1995, I've seen it so many times I never get sick of it I think it's better than their WM10 one.

I had VHS tapes for both KOTR 93 and WM8 which got played weekly when I was a young sprog.

But the one BH pointed out is definitely a match that has stayed with me. I remember watching it live when I was 12. I'll never forget just how far my jaw dropped to the floor. It was probably the first huge bump I'd (probably anyone had) seen in wrestling. I just was in awe and looked at my friend with a stunned "did that just really happen?". Completely and utter unexpected.

I actually show it to a lot of people and they never fail to be shocked and intrigued by the match.

I remember i got a lend of Fully Loaded 1998 of a friend, didnt give it back to him for years, was such a great ppv. I couldnt stop watching the dungeon match, Sable :pac: , and the two out of three falls between HHH and the Rock. But the one i was constantly glued to was this beauty,

Beyond the Mat and Foleys book ruined this match for me, seeing Foleys family grimace everytime The Rock hits him with the chair and the heartbreaking line in the book where Foley says everyone from the locker room paid tribute after the match except The Rock was so sad.

    Owen vs Bret, WM10

I was blown away and fell in love with wrestling after that match. Must have watched it 500 times on videotape as an over-excited 7 year old :pac:

Had it on tape but The Model V Jake the Snake in the blindfold match with all the footage leading up the match.

Royal Rumble 94..... it was epic.

Wrestlemania 12, the ironman match was simply a work of art.

I had King of the Ring '95 (I think?) on tape that I watched repeatedly. Savio Vega vs Mable in the final.

Don't know why I watched it so often.

Told this one a bajillion times, but Flair/Vader at Starrcade '93. HMV were clearing their backlog of WCW stuff in late '01, and there was compilation video that was originally exclusive to those who subscribed to WCW magazine; not anymore, seemingly. Grand sum of about 2 quid. Whole decade's run of WHC contests, but Flair/Vader just wipes the walls with'em. Flair desperately fighting off the monster to keep his job, and Vader looking like a gargantuate throughout; unreal stuff.

Too many to name but summerslam 93 was one of the first videos I had, bought for my birthday from my aunt, I watched that so many times. Was a Bret mark and hated Lawler lol

HBK vs Taker at Badd Blood 97. A random VHS that ended up in the house no one knows how. Great match and the beginning of Kane. Was the start of me liking wrestling I'd guess. Another one was Survivor Series Im gonna say 98 when Austin *spoiler :P* gets run over, but the VHS to that annoyed me as it had Big Show on the cover instead of Austin when really you weren't meant to know that before seeing the show.

    Bret Hart vs British Bulldog

Bret Vs Road Piper at Mania 8, & Flair vs Savage same event.

    Iron Man Match Mania 12

Original Hell in a Cell (was a massive Kane fan)

Taker / Mankind Boiler Room Brawl, Shawn vs Vader Summerslam 96

Bret vs Taker, Owen Vs SCSA Summerslam 97

Those are just some of the main ones. I used to Vhs every event back in the day, and always had a stock of 3 hr blank tapes at the ready!

I had this taped. Loved the Taker/Yoko match and all the heels "killing" Taker.

My mam taped over it with Princess Diana's funeral. Caused a considerable amount of sulking.

Hardy boys against edge and christian, tornado tag in a cage. Unforgiven 2000. Absolutely brilliant.

Oh dear, can you imagine watching a tape of poor Diana's coffin being driven towards Westminster, then all of a sudden, the image turns to -

Imagine if it was RR 1998 & Kane lighting the Casket with JR shouting "My God, Kane set the casket on fire!"

TLC at Wrestlemania 17, back when all the PPVs were included in the regular Sky packages bar the Brit ones I recorded them all on tape, but that TLC was watched to absolute death, so so perfect.

My Godfather got me In Your House: Beware of Dog on VHS, was obsessed with the strap match with Austin/Savio, then after that it was probably all of Royal Rumble 2000 when I taped it off Channel 4, still is one of my favourite shows.

In 10 years time this thread will be full of people talking about The Miz and Kofi Kingston...

The Rock Vs Triple H at Backlash 2000.

Had only been watching WWF for a few months. Taped Backlash off Channel 4, and when I finally did tape over it (for Armageddon 2000), I got the official WWF video of Backlash 2000 as a present about a week later by pure coincidence.

Still one of my favourite matches ever, and Austin arriving is one of my top moments.

The match I watched a lot was Jericho vs Benoit at the Royal Rumble 2001.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 116 ✭✭Clemantis

Backlash 2001. Purely because it was the only PPV tape I had. The main event was the Power Trip versus the Brothers of Destruction, but my favourite match was Raven vs. Rhyno for the Hardcore Championship. I wasn't a big fan of hardcore matches, but that bout had some amazing set-piece elements that really added to the story they were telling. Also featured Shane McMahon jumping off the stage onto the Big Show, the Duchess of Queensbury match between Jericho and Regal, and an awesome ironman submission match between Angle and Benoit.
