    Just a quick one,

does anyone know what code the change of ownership (for the seller) affidavide form is called. According to eflow it should be on the Department of Shannon website but I can't find it.

I need a specific one to get signed by the peace commissioner as the buyer is being uncooperative and won't provide details.

    This one?

I'm not sure what you're trying to do though, surely the registered owner can get a replacement cert?
How is any of this up to the buyer?

Or have you sold a car and not transferred it into their name and they won't give you their details?

He might if you reported the car as stolen :).
Seriously though, how did this happen ?
You sold a car, still have the VLC, but the buyer didn't give you his details ?
Or, you sold a car and handed over the VLC to the Buyer ???????
If it's the 2nd scenario, you made the mistake...

It's all a bit random and long winded but yes, I'm clear it's my fault.

I imported a car, at the NCT center when I came out form VRTing it I got a call from someone who wanted to buy it. No issue so I sold it with the understanding that they would tax it and I'd send off the VLC when I received it. The VLC isn't issued until the car is taxed.

Last I heard of it was June 2011. In the mean time I forgot about it all. I arrived home on Friday and had a stack of Eflow envelopes with fines etc for the car. Turns out the guy I sold it to returned it to the road and then sold it on for a rather high figure to another buyer who took it with no paperwork.

Anyway, I think I'm sorted now......

That would mean that the buyer would be taxing it in your name.
If you sell a car after VRT but before taxing it you have to inform Shannon of the change of ownership.
glad to hear you got sorted anyway.:)

He would have been taxing it in my name but the VLC would have issued to me straight away so I could post it off then and sign it over to him.

In any event, if anyone has a similar issue you must call Shannon and ask for a form to declare it is no longer your car. You will have to fill it out and sign it in the company of a local peace commissioner and then send it back.

It is then up to the new owner to contact Shannon. They must ask for an RF100 to transfer ownership........they will then be liable for all the back tax and any fines linked to the reg plus penalties....
