Does anyone know if we need to apply for a card to access the free gp care for under 5s?

Does anyone know if it starts from 01/01/2014 or is it a different date?

Legislation is required before it is introduced so no introduction date available yet, other than it will be in 2014. It will be for children under six.

In Budget 2014 it was announced that free GP care will be introduced for children aged 5 years and under during 2014. This will require legislation.

    Thanks for that

I thought they would have drafted the legislation by now

We could be waiting for at least 18 months if we're lucky some gp's are opposing the plan
