Gumtree for jobs?

    Hi,

I've never applied for a job through Gumtree, but I do see a fair few jobs advertised when I do searches on indeed.ie and the like.

I dunno, the ads always seem a bit... amateurish or something?

Has anyone every applied for, or got a job through Gumtree? If so, what was your experience?

My experience with them is not good. It seems they have very little filtering so all sorts of scam stuff can appear there.

I've also had mostly negative experiences. Even one who was looking for my bank details as part of my "job offer".

I messaged someone who had an add up on it (going back a few years) and said that although I was interested in the job, I had no intention of sending my cv to someone when I had no idea who they were... Turned out it was a recruitment agent, she got in touch, I sent my CV to her, interviewed with the company etc turned out the job wasn't exactly what I was looking for at the time, but no other issues (other than the agent being mildly annoyed that I didn't accept the job offer)
