Hi, got a used trailer lately, pulling a good load today, there's a shock and a bang from it under braking sometimes,- its quite noticeable... more often when accelerating after braking..I'm reckoning its the damper unit..would this be correct, can it be replaced easily, and likely cost...if its a hefty bill i'd hope the seller will cover it
    thanks as always...:)

Yep, sounds like the damper is on the way out alright. Very straightforward to change, 15 min job. Priced one for a Bradley Doublelock hitch last week (rating of 3.5t) & it was €66 + VAT, can be got cheaper in UK;)

+1 what durrus boy says just maybe get new nuts & bolts for the hitch attachment onto the trailer esp if it is a old trailer if not use the same bolts but new lock nuts

you will know its the damper if you can move the hitch head with your hand, shouldnt be able to move it..it could be a sign your brakes are on the way out i think :(
