Single GTX 780 for 1440P or dual 760s

After ordering a Qnix and wondering would a single GTX780 be enough for 1440P? Or would I be better with 760 SLI which would be the same price. I have a 500 euro budget for the card/s. Only thing that's worrying me is the VRam. Motherboard is capable of SLI and have a 750 watt rated power supply. Not quite up on 1440P

What about the 290? Way cheaper than the 780 and just as fast really, almost as fast as 290x. Now, the only models available now aren't great, but they're so cheap so its a good trade off. Non-ref models coming in January. I got one last week for 363 euro including delivery.

I'll look at some benchmarks tks. Would it be enough for 1440P?

SLI 760's are stronger than a 780, even at 1440p.

The downside is that you don't really have much upgrade path from SLI 760's. With the 780 you can still bump up to SLI in a year or so when you can get 780's cheaper.

I ran 1440 with a single 660ti,BF3 ran all ultra apart from aa and hbao @ 1440 60+fps so you will be fine either way.

Cheers I think I'll go with 290 and add another one down the line if I need it. Thanks for the help.

Get the best single GPU you can, dont buy two low end for SLI. You can add another 780 later. A single 780 will be 1440p on most games just fine.
