I see it's in full flow in Castlebar . Woke yesterday but the noise of a jack hammer at 8 am. Have they no consideration for anyone sleeping.

Just curious to see if anyone has got a letter yet.

Also I notice I get a letter saying that the Estate been taken over by the council and 2 days later the meter lads are in. That's efficiency.

Wait until they are legally allowed to start :) 7am is the earliest they can start, that will shake the cobwebs! :D

I'm fairly sure they are not allowed start before 9.

Incidentially what happens if your estate is not taken over by the council?

I enquired about that this year with local planning authority as the railway crowd were doing work, they were working from 9pm until 3am three nights in a row and we live next door.
Was told that normal hours were 8am to 8pm, but that 7am is allowed. She said that they should have given us notice of these works.
When I spoke to them they said they called but no one was home...

They spun you a yarn. They should have notified all the nearby householders in writing.

Yes but it's not the council that are putting in the water meters. 14 companies won the tender for the water meters for castlebar and surrounding areas.

Is there meant to be a letter with 2 weeks notice?

How ungrateful you all are, our wonderful government and its great leader send workmen around and give you all free water meters with free installation by workmen with shiny new vans and all you can do is complain.
