    why ?

Because id like to know the price, It might twig my interest.

I wouldnt bother my arse going to see a POA. Id move on to the next tbh.

It would have to be something vintage and incredibly special for me to bother visiting a POA

Because if someone is making the effort to sell a car the least they can do is think of a price. I see no reason to hold off giving the price on the ad. If they cant think of a price themselves they should check for similar cars on DD/CarZone etc and base it off that. Id want to be quite interested in a car before I would bother ringing about it. And knowing the price they are looking for is a major factor in formulating interest in a car for me.

I cant think of a reason to put POA apart from laziness, but if you are aware one one then do tell. Possible a dealer who gets in a transporter full of cars could be trying to get all the ads up on DD/CarZone and come back later to add pics /price/more info. But for a private seller to use POA is a big turn off for me and I wouldn't bother inquiring further.

If a dealer or individual cannot be bothered to place their asking price on the advert then I ignore it.

When I see POA on an advert it always gives me the impression that either the seller has it priced too high but doesn't want to put buyers off initially or they are going to pull a different figure out of their rear for everyone that enquires about it.

well, first (and probably default) sorting column on carzone etc is by price - putting poa at the top, and so generally skipped past, as my price range is between x and y.

This would be my very initial narrowing down - and not the stage Id be interested in picking up the phone and getting the hard sell (doubt you'd get the price out of someone who'd list a car as POA within 30 seconds methinks).

Yeah, this was my opinion too but just wanted to see what the general consensus was. Its just annoying the way they cant put a bloody price

As far as Im concerned POA is exclusively for cars that belong in the "if you have to ask then you probably cant afford it" price range. Some clown who thinks their ten year old Focus belongs in this category is probably not worth the effort of dealing with!

When I'm looking at cars I always start the filter at 1-2,000 so that it excludes POAs, and the likelihood is I'm unlikely to buy something for under 2k.

Which is why most people skim past them. From a psychological point we like to know the asking price up front as part of the selection criteria when browsing. In reality the asking price probably has less of a bearing on the actual selling price.

POA followed later in the ad by 'no time wasters' is a personal favourite

Not displaying the price though is about as ridiculous as listing a price but not disclosing the car make/model

Yup, when I buy a car I deciede on a few models Im in the market for, then see how much cash I have to sent on it an off I go. Any time I search on a website I have my budget +/- 2/3000 so so and POA POS wont show up anyway

I move on to the next ad

When I was in the market I used to ignore them. They conveniently sit at the top of the CZ listings. So, easy to skip.

The idea of some *** of a salesman making up a price on the spot depending on the cut of you puts me off.

POA automatically equals unrealistic high price for me so I just move onto the next ad. Never once enquired about a POA ad to be honest.
If it was a bargain/comepetitively price then you would be using that to sell the damn thing.

Its annoying and it may drive me onto the next ad, but if I am interesting regardless I will have an idea of what price range the car is in, so will make contact if its worth it ;)

It depends on the car. If its the only one available then I would be tempted to call. If there are other options then Id almost certainly skip over the ad unless there is something remarkably stand out about it.

    Price On Anus.
    I move on.

If someone is finicky enough to put POA on a car, then I imagine buying it would probably be fairly painful. When someone wants a car, they've probably narrowed down most of the variables, e.g. make, model, year, spec, colour. So all they want to know is the price. So if I'm looking for a 2011 BMW 320D with a leather interior in black or grey, and there are 5 listed, the last one I'm going to pay any attention to is the one that I have to go to the hassle of contacting the seller just to get the price.

POA my arse - its a car, not a house in Dalkey.

Or when someone says make me an offer before giving their price. Ya cant be buying it and selling it!

Doing a search I put a minimum price, so that eliminates me ever seeing them. I presume the vendor is trying to add some élan to his sale

Would always avoid them. I did ring about a few poa ads before and price always ended up being an absolute joke way out of the going rate for the car. So I would just skip over them now.

    I never even consider them.
Instead I continue looking until I find another similar car with a price tag.

I find that if I sort the web results a certain way they won't even come up so that helps.

    Indeed.

    Or Priced Over Average.

I normally ignore, it just smacks of laziness and condescension to me.

Mind you, for the first time ever I actually did email one on Carzone last night and in fairness the garage rang me back today. Told me what I wanted to know, and then he told me he did input the price in the ad on the carzone client s/ware they use, but it seemed to have not picked it up.
