    Hi All,

    Just about to start researching hillwalking clubs in/around Dublin in preparation for spring...

    Ideally the requirements are;
    - transport to/from the walk via city center
    - nothing too scary in terms of severity of the walks
    - friendly bunch with maybe some sort of attached social scene i.e. pints or whatever after the walk
    - occasional trips further afield (within Ireland and maybe abroad)

    Any suggestions/pointers gratefully received!

    Hi,

    I used to do a bit of hillwalking.

    I know An Oige do a bus from town to their weekly walks.

    Glenwalk are a big hill walking club with a good social side. They don't run a bus service but they have a car pool on Mount street. They walk in Wicklow every second Sunday. www.glenwalk.com

    There are also a few walking groups on Meetup.com
