She's not into perfume, clothes, electronics and has a box full of gift vouchers that she never uses.

She's not by any means senile, still drives, does crosswords, watches loads of TV, cooks etc.

Wracking our brains to no avail and cutting it fine....any help much appreciated.

EDIT: I should probably add she's always giving out that people are trying to get her to slow down at her age so things like hot water bottles, blankets, slippers etc never go down well.

My mother hates electronics but I got her a DS a few years ago... it was probably the best present I've ever given her. I showed her the basics of how to use it, and she adores it. She uses it everyday, does crosswords on it, sudoku, wordsearches, and she also uses it for brain-training.

I know she doesn't like electronics BUT how about a tablet. Assuming she doesn't have wifi you will have to put the apps on it first but you can put on some crossword and cooking apps. IF she has wifi (or can access it somewhere) then put the RTE player on it. In my experience once they work it out (and its simple) the RTE player is more addictive than crack cocaine to people of that age.

My grandma loves Irish lotto so I am going to buy a lottery ticket, but a more expensive one, with higher chances to win. I read about this Spanish Christmas Lottery that is getting more and more popular in Spain and abroad. Tickets are expensive (25 euros) so I'll buy 2. (can read about it here: www.lottoland.co.uk/christmas-lottery). It would be nice to put in an envelop with greetings.

I think it is a nice present that she would appreciate instead of the usual chocolate or plant.

    What do you think?
