An invisible one, complete with invisible baubles, invisible lights, invisible tinsel and an invisible fairy on top.

This year, due to Aunt Netty's deathly fear of tree-shaped objects, we decided not to have a tree.

We went with a more ethical, economic and, I think personally, traditional option. We've opted to have a Christmas hobo. It may smell a bit like wee but Aunt Netty doesn't mind and the hobo gets somewhere warm for the night.

Same one I've had for the last 10 years, it's a 6 ft artificial tree , missing some branches , one side looks like a tree, the other side looks like a flat tree. It's leaning to the side. It's fine, does the job ;)

Na, I always put mine up on the 22nd and take it down on the 4th. It's a long standing tradition.

I just think of henry in goodfellas. "I got the most expensive tree they had"

It's the not the tree that's important. It's how much **** you can manage on it. 800 bulbs and about 100 balls and **** load of tinsel is about right for a 5 foot tree. A tree is not decorated until the branches are about to snap.

But sure to have the outside of the flat plastered with lights and a generic Santa stop here sign. And the lights have to be up a week after Halloween.

Real tree, white non-flashy lights, few baubles etc, goes up the weekend before Christmas. Looks great from inside and through the window. Keep it classy.

    Her green plastic watering can
For her fake Chinese rubber plant
    In the fake plastic earth
That she bought from a rubber man
In a town full of rubber plans
    To get rid of itself

Putting it up tomorrow. 7ft green artificial - I dont like real trees, they always look too uneven.

White lights, red & gold decorations - no tinsel. I'm a bit of a nut about it, no one is allowed touch the tree! Dont know what I'll do if I have kids one day, I'll have to let them wreck it with their cr*ppy decorating "skills" & pretend to like it :-(

Can't beat the smell of a real tree.

No tree as such, but I've got a very tall vase (just under 70cm), which I fill with branches which I then decorate and put lights on.

It's a tradition my mother started - cheaper than an actual tree, yet it looks so much better :)

Wow, that's some ceiling height you have there.

We bought our 6ft Artif tree last year about three weeks after Christmas, and got it for a song €239 SALE €90 (display model).

Exactly like us. All the family. Axe. Wire cutters. Flashlight.
    You can't beat traditions.

Eighty old fashioned fairy lights and she looks fine . . . . .

Might get me a new set of LED lights for next year?

I take offence to the poll. There's no option for "I don't have a tree" - you seem to think we all have someone to be included in a "we"... Thanks OP. :(

    I don't have one either.
I'm not getting with this mid-winter spend spend project

I don't put up a tree. It's not an anti Christmas thing. I wont be here for actual Christmas so I figure what's the point
