I must say I was touched after watching this, really refreshing and a PR triumph for westjet, hopefully more airlines will follow suit.
I'm probably looking at it as an employee point of view as I work in aviation, but its great to see an airline that values it's customers, unlike a lot of carriers out there.

I really like this event. I am guessing here but I expect that this cost WestJet less than $40K to carry out.
(250 pax at maybe $100 average spend plus labour and setup?)

And look at the huge viral hit they have created. Really shows how a company can go beyond looking at "the bottom line" and with a bit of imagination and flair can really create positive marketing buzz. Would be nice to work for a company like that. I have seen my employer miss so many opportunities for positive spin due to perceived costs. Too many accountants running things these days.

Video production costs have crashed and they're also giving very obvious credit (on what was guaranteed to be a highly viewed video) to the production firm.
