Vietnam in the Wet Season

Planning a long trip which will end with a short stay in Vietnam at the beginning of June.

Apparently the weather in the central region will still be good at this time of year so we will probably let that dictate our travels, however we plan to fly home from Ho Chi Minh in the south, there just seemed to be a whopping price difference, as this area will be in the middle of the wet season.

Has anyone experience of this or would it be likely to cause a problem? We would probably leave 3/4 days for the journey and try as see as much as possible on the way there. The poor weather itself wouldn't bother us, just, don't want it to get in the way of making it there!

I travelled from north to South Vietnam in June this year. Don't worry about the weather. A bit of rain some evenings will be the most of it. There was flash floods one evening in HCM while I was there and we got delayed going to Halong Bay due to a Typhoon, but these were the only things that happened in nearly 4 weeks.

Don't worry about the weather and have a great trip!

Sorry to answering so late. I go to Thailand twice a year and usually one trip during the monsoon season. It rains heavy but only for an hour or two and its warm so not cold like here. So I would not worry any questions just shout.

Was in Vietnam in July (so close ish) we had 2 days of rain when we were in Sapa and one heavy shower in Hoi An which lasted about 30 minutes other than that we had no rain....so don't let the weather dictate your trip...Vietnam is a fantastic country...I would recommend not rushing south as we thought the North of the country was far nicer and more 'old style'...we preferred our trip from North to Hoi An than the part from that onwards (although that was great too)
