It wouldn't open, changed the battery in the key, still nothing, opened the passenger door to try start it. When I turn the key, nothing happens, no noise, no lights, no ticking, nothing.

Tried my friends battery in it, she has the same car and still nothing.
Any ideas? Last thing I need before Christmas!!
    Thanks!

It's still probably the battery. Can you try jump starting it?

Possibly a fuse but I'd try the battery swap again and make sure to put connections on properly.
With your symptoms it's almost always the battery.

Still nothing, I'm wondering if it's the immobiliser or key, when I press unlock on the key when in the car the indicators on the dash will flash

Have you a spare key to try?

I;d suggest swapping the fob batteries but then I think you have to re-synch the key to the car.

I did that and tried the programming thing online with the turning from 0-on 6 times in ten seconds and nothing

    Maybe the fob is damaged?

Had no choice but To get it to a garage, entire fuse board needs to be changed. 200 I didn't need to spend before Christmas!

Ah crap, that's too bad. At least someone managed to find the issue.
200 sounds pricey for that kind of work but I've never had to do it so wouldn't know how much work it is/parts cost.
