I have one, got a 10 model a few months ago. We have three kids and need room for us all as well as good boot space. I have the automatic version, which I wasn't looking for at the beginning but am really happy with my purchase. The 1.6 diesel engine is well able to hold its own on the road, which I didn't think it would, due to the size of it. The kids love it, there's so much room and they love the fold down tables in the back. I spent the first few weeks constantly finding new features, they pack a lot of stuff into that car.
My only slight gripe is that trying to get the seat belts done and undone can be a bit of a process. We have two high back boosters on either side and a rear facing baby seat in the middle. The kids are constantly unbuckling the baby seat seatbelt as you have to feel your way down to the buckle. If I can find suitable seatbelt extenders then this one problem will be resolved.
There's a particular garage in Dublin who sell ex-Motability cars imported from the U.K. They have unbelievably low mileage and are in great nick.

Lots of people are convinced that French cars are badly made, which hurts second-hand value.

The Grand Picasso seems to have issues with rear suspension and the automated gearbox, see Honest John for the kinds of issues reported.

The inlaws have one, they moved to france some years ago, drive back and forth with it, its done over 250,000 Kms, its a little loose but youd expect that after that milage. It still starts and runs first time every time.

The rear suspension is a torsion bar in them, but you can add coil springs once thats given up its torsionness (not a real word)

The dash display also has given problems, but they seem to be an easy enough fix.

Nice and roomy in them with tons of cubby holes and storage tricks. Im impressed with it every time I see it.

Oh and they have no auto skills, so this thing is lucky to get washed once a year, never mind serviced.

I had same issue in Scenic - got 2 extenders off Ebay (think around EUR 20 for both), work perfect. About 8 inches in length in total - just enough to extend the fastener and not too long so it doesn't end up in the middle of the kids stomach.

Hi KazDub - any chance you can let us know the name of this garage?
    thanks

The 1.6HDi engine used in the Citroen (and also Peugeot and I think that one is in the Fords too) is known to have specific issues, especially around the area of Turbo failure, and also the engine gunking up (related to the injectors). It would be worth your while having it checked, preventative maintenance etc.

I would recommend you reduce the service interval to the normal 10-12k miles and it is essential to use the proper oil.

They are plenty of 5-6 year old cars with major repair bills.

    Hi,
yes, sorry. I got my car from Gowans on the Navan Road. They used to be DG Opal. The motability cars have very low mileage and are in great nick. My 3 year old GP had just over 16000km on the car when I got it and was like new outside and in. As they're bought in via the U.K, rather than from the car maker there are all various kinds of specs available. I went out a couple of times to see if I could find one that met my needs and I did on my second outing there.
