If you are in profit, probably best to enter a stop loss order to protect your gain.

I have some Kerry shares also , but I got my shares for being a milk supplier
I sold some a couple of months ago and will sell some in January
I think that they move in steps and might stay close to where they are now for a number of years

As someone who looking to start making small investments like what you claim to have done 2 years ago with Kerry group, do you recommend any reading material or can you offer any advice?

I'm hoping to explore these avenues over Christmas.

How much is your 20 euro now worth if you mind me asking?

Asking someone should I buy or sell a stock, is like asking should I get married. Only you know the answer to that and only you will have to live with the consequences of your decision. :)
I won't tell you what to do, but consider the following:
There are many emotions which afflict investors, but fear of loss and greed for profit are probably the strongest. You have already overcome fear by reinvesting after suffering losses on Eircom & ILP, now you face greed. What you are essentially asking above is, do I take the money on the table now (140% profit) or do I hold out for more? Cast you mind back to when you invested in Kerry two years ago. If someone had said to you then, would you be happy to make 140% on this investment over the next two years? I am sure you would have jumped at the chance.

a good post and yes i agree with you about greed I just posted for some discussion on kerry group and what fellow bordies thouht about the company I am no expert on shares and had no interest in them until i came into a few pound a few years back and started to invest a few bob after that I can live quite comfotably without this monay as i live quit simply any way anyone that would know me would never think I am worth a few bob I think the small print about shares is so important shares can rise as well as fall

you could always take your original money off the table and tuck the remaining shares away for 10 years and see what's happens.

i wouldnt sell , while the stock has had remarkable gains this past two years , in reality it has been range bound for several months now , if anything its due to breakout higher , the dairy industry in ireland is booming and is set for serious expansion from the first half of 2015 when milk quotas go
