    Hi
Daughter currently doin a 3 year degree. All her friends are taking third year, next year, out, to do paid work placement.
She currently receives the full maintenance grant and fees paid.
She never wanted to do work placement so sh could escape college ASAP but is now debating it.
    1. Will college fees / reg fees have to be paid whilst he is on this work placement.
    2. Will the gran cease?
    3. How valuable is a year out work placement?

    Thanks

1 I don't think so but you need to ask the college
2 I think so but check with SUSI http://www.boards.ie/ttforum/1610
3 It gives her something valuable to put on her CV and could help her a lot finding employment after college. As well as that she may be able to get a good employers reference

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
