    just got a rasp pi a couple of weeks now and really delighted with it. its a great little machine and am running raspbmc on it without any trouble. however there is one little thing i have a problem with. if i plug in the rpi the tv will pick it up on hdmi but if i go back to analogue tv for a while and then back to hdmi i get no signal and have to power off the pi and power on again then it works fine again. any ideas . is it a setting on the tv or the pi.

    Try setting/adding the following to /boot/config.txt and reboot.
    hdmi_force_hotplug=1
    hdmi_drive=2

    First forces the pi in hdmi mode even if no hdmi monitor is detected. Second forces sound through hdmi. I'd guess the PI is switching back to analogue if it thinks the TV has been disconnected, so hopefully this will stop that.
