They're actually flying to the South Pole, connecting bus to the North Pole.

O'Leary must be gone soft in his old age, about time & fair dues

I don't know what is going on with him, but he sure is playing a blinder lately. Ryanair have turned over a new leaf and it's a real nice turnaround :)

"Initiative to mark airline’s new Shannon deal and celebrate airport’s first year of independence will see 3,000 children flown over four days to meet Santa in the sky

The magic of Christmas will come alive in the skies for 3,000 lucky children over the next two weekends with, yes, FREE flights to meet Santa."

    from here.

You can avail of the kiosk that RyanAir installed at Shannon @ $299.99

Oh you wont be making smart remarks *when Ryanair start flying over the atlantic!* :P

    *may or may not happen*

It probably will eventually. He said a few tears ago that he could fly to an old aerodrome in Niagara for $12 + about $90 tax. However I'm not getting any younger so he'd better get his finger out!

The new non-cnutish side of O'Leary is strange and unfamiliar.
    I'm a bit frightened.

The kids will prob end up as unpaid elves in SantaLand ..human rights abuses are rife there I believe..Ryanair will do OK out of this.

No, O'Leary want's to buy out Aer Lingus, this and his new Mr.Nice act is just that, an act.

It's despicable that he's using kids as pawns in this takeover bid. There's €250 million at stake here for Ryanair.

For gods sake! 3000 children are going to get the treat of a lifetime.
Could the bashing be confined to somewhere else?

Read the article - celebrating a year of Shannon being independent of MOL's arch-nemesis, the DAA.

In fairness this is not about taking over Are Lingus. What this is actually is a PR stunt to soften Ryanairs image. Ryanair has been issuing profit warnings of late and the shareholders are not happy. The shareholders believe the poor customer service and tough image are now damaging Ryanair. That's the reason behind the recent uncharacteristic behaviour. This kind of stunt will generate plenty of column inches showing Ryanair in a new positive light.

Its all about the bottom line in the end. Its nice that some children get something out of it though.
