Wasnt all-weather jumping abandoned in England after a load of jockey injuries and horse deaths in the 90s? They might get it through here but even if they do I cant see it being anything other than low grade fare.

It'll be easier for them to fix jumps races there than flat ones.

heard on the radio that the surface will be turf with underground heating so that it can be used all year round

I can't imagine that they'll be able to construct a full racecourse with underground heating.

What form will a NH oval be?
Fully flat and one mile circuit?

I think it would be very dangerous.
I can't imagine the type of beast racing there will attract.

No doubt it'll be worse than Ffos Las.

Horse racing is dangerous so why would this be any different. Horses wont be any worse than the ones we have for summer jumping.Think its a great idea

One of the worst ideas I've heard of. Can't see the point of it bar it being another bookies benefit.

Is this an episode of Fr Ted?

Surely the glare off the lights will affect horses and jockeys, I can see races where all the fences will be dolled off due to it.

Laytown has applied for permission to have an all water grand national. All the fences will be under water and the horses will be allowed come up for air when ever the jockeys let them.

I love betting on seahorses, so unpredictable..

It's two turf strips in the straights that will have jumps on them, they'll go around the bends on the polytrack. All credit for their creativity, but I'm not sure how well it will be received.

If there's one thing worse than all weather flat racing, it's all weather jump racing.

The dog racing in Dundalk is awful sh1te, the flat racing is worse so any jumps racing will be pure scutter.

What did you think of the original racetrack which was a dual track? Do you think the current set up is better or worse?

Was never at the old track, I lived up in Dundalk a few years ago just after they opened the new track. Many a night I went in with a ball of fifties and came out with a ball of fivers.
