Where to get a laptop nowadays?

My last laptop came from laptopsdirect.ie a few years ago and it was grand.

I was looking there now though and the selection is really poor.
I was also looking at ones from pc specialist but they are either dear or underpowered.
Can anyone recommend a place which has a good selection of laptops?

I'm looking for a desktop replacement laptop / ultrabook.
My requirements are..

Big; 17 inch at least
Minimum Quad core processor
Decent dedicated GPU, Nvidia GT745M or similar
Price c. €800

In fact something like this, which I recommended to a friend of mine in Canada who is also getting a laptop.

Also this is not a christmas present so I can wait till sales.

For the price this would be your best bet . Overclockers.co.uk also have a decent selection of laptops too . I can honestly say if I was in your shoes I would spend abit more on the laptop especially if you want it for gaming .

I dont want to be playing assassins creed on it, just some indie games, like FTL . Also I'll be developing games on it so having a medium power machine will give me a good indication of how well my game is performing on medium hardware all through the dev process.

I did find one that fits my criteria there (though its a bit dear)

See the thing is you want full quad core and decent graphics horse power so it will cost you money plus the fact you want a 17 inch screen too . I would say go with the Acer if you are happy with but make sure to get reviews of the laptop online first .
