Sweet. Any idea how big it is? Don't want to wait till I get home Think I'll have to though, my mobile data is very close to it's limit this month.

System Transfer limit has been removed - just as well given the number of special editions they've released
Now you need to hit both L and R to launch the camera. I quite like the sound of that.


The unification of eShop balances, Nintendo Network IDs and removal of sys transfer limit suggests that maybe we don't have to worry about hardware tied downloads for much longer, but I guess we'll wait and see. anyone with both a 3DS and 3DS XL or 2DS using the same NinNet ID on both care to comment?

Would also be interested to see if you can now make Wii U shop purchases from the 3DS and vice versa? Would be great to be able to make a purchase while you're on the go and have the WiiU download it in sleep mode before you get home...

I like the sound of needing to press L+R for the camera. With the way we need to hold the 3DS it's so easy to accidentally hit one of them by themselves.

I just updated my 3DS. I'm not all that interested in the Miiverse but the big thing for me was to set up a Nintendo Network ID. I will eventually get a Wii U and I didn't want my username to be taken. I am now The40Watt across Nintendo, Sony and Xbox.

During the linking procedure, I read all the things.
You can only link your NNID to 1 3DS.
You'd have to delete your NNID to use it on another 3DS, which I'd personally not do since I'd be afraid all my purchases would be wiped.

Oh, that was me. I also registered Shane82+4 and Shane84+2

Yeah, multiple 3DSes is handled by sys transfer as before, rather than a login/logout token interchange. You can still move back and forth between consoles but I imagine the time required renders that an unattractive proposition even with unlimited xfers

They're getting hammered by over 35 million migrations from whatever they were before to nnid accounts, I got logged into eshop and all the updates around 3am.

Started working for me just after 12am. Although I got a warning when I entered the 3DS eShop that there was already an account tied to that NNID, and it hasn't combined the WiiU / 3DS eShop balance for me. Anyone else seeing that?

This keeps failing for me (I get the "An Error Occurred. Unable to Update" message). I have internet access and it seems to download and start updating before failing.

I managed to update after two attempts but am now unable to connect to the internet, on the internet settings my connection is fine though, not sure what the issues are it has been like this all day too.

Could be the volume of new users logging in to the network for the first time with their new Santy present - Ninty are nothing if not consistent when it comes to under-speccing server capacity. Try again at a less popular time. Like now!
