Sole trader - Preliminary Tax - not yet paid

I paid my "accountant" to file my return for 2012, and ROS took money from my bank account before the Nov deadline.

But ROS did not take the preliminary tax.
My "accountant" now says he forgot to file that element, and hence that's why there was no money taken.

    Question:
    1. Would it be normal for my accountant to pay the interest/penalties if I am charged those by Revenue? (I mean would that be normal because it was their mistake)
    2. Should I get a new accountant?!! (or is this late filing normal)

point 1) Likeyhood no interest or charges will hit

point 2) Its only your decision on weather you want to change or not. It would not be normal to file stuff late. Shouldnt have paid till you were happy all was done. Thats my advice as an accountant

pm me is you want any details
