If you owned a road. . .

If you owned a stretch of road which was of great use to the public but that they could not easily avoid and you had the means and technology to enforce various rules automatically, what would you do?

Either your own rules just for the banter or more seriously, with respect to current law.

I ask as I was a bored passenger for a 8 minute drive down an N road and by charging a 20 euro fine per broken bulb and use of fog lights I had made 540 euro though I was being mean and fining for broken fog lights when in use too :P

Just that one thing on a 100 meter stretch of N road that I some how manage to own and be able to do what I like on could be quite the earner while I lived my life.

No maximum speed limit, minimum speed limit of 180kph... For that 100m stretch.

... And a Speed limit of 50kph either side of that stretch with a well positioned speed van.

    Chi-ching!

Heavy penalties for being under the limited on the stretch. Speed van positioned 10m after it begins.

Dual carraigeway, limit 100kmh, lower limit 80kmh, have chevrons like the port tunnel so minimum 2 between cars.
Strictly enforce chevron rules and punish overtaking lane campers.

Just a thought but can anyone give a rough estimate on how much say 1 kilometer of the N7 costs to put it into perspective ??

Id toll it and it wouldn't be a big fancy toll just a few pallets and a shotgun like thay do in the ass hole of Africa

I'd have a segregated lane for drink drivers or those otherwise impaired, for which users would have to sign a disclaimer, abide by dramatically reduced speed limits, and pay a hefty toll. Should be a nice little earner on the weekends.

Tailgating would be punishable by public execution. Especially for BMW drivers :pac:

Tailgating would be not needed as there would be no lane hoggers on my road - lane discipline would be enforced under penalty of castration.:pac:

My road would be tolled. The better the sound your engine makes, the less you pay. No speed limits a la Autobahn. All diesels would have a minimum toll of €50.00 just for being diesels :pac:

If you see me coming, get the FOOK OUT OF MAAAHHH WAYY!! Also, another toll for staying in my way :D

I'd have a trap door beneath the yellow box. Ignore the box at your peril :pac:

I'd enforce a toll based on if I like you or not, cocky BMW drivers and "man with white van" would be heavily penalized. Whereas bikers and sexy MILFS in cabrios get high fives !! :pac:

Mine would be a nice twisty section with a huge sign "time expected to complete the next x KM is xx:xx" time to be set by me in my coal burner.
People will be fined €100 for every second over the time.
    Ill make a ruddy fortune!

And the fastest time every month will get a large cash prize, just to keep it interesting for people with fast cars......that can actually drive:D

It didn't. Reread the post, I said 8 mins on a N road so 80kph.
100 meter stretch is just an example ;-)
