    Hi,

I am wondering if anyone has purchased their engagement ring from Sharon in e-jewels?.. She works from a showroom in Limerick but gets the diamonds direct from Antwerp..

    Thanks

Yes we purchased from Sharon in e-jewels. TBH my fiancé did the research and knew what she wanted. It wasn't that difficult for me. But the process with Sharon was easy and quick and we definitely got more for our buck than we would have on the high street. We did shop around.

    Hi Ludikrus,

thanks so much for getting back to me. I had the same experience. It was quick and easy with Sharon and we had looked high and low and abroad for the ring. We had a generous enough budget but I got my ring independently valued and its worth double what was paid for it. I was just wondering as not that many people have expressed their experiences with her..

Best of luck in your marriage,

    Thanks ###

We looked there when getting my ring made but I personally wasn't keen on Sharon's set-up

I found her quite pushy and condescending. We had what I think was a very generous budget for an engagement ring (€8000-not to show off but just to put it in context) and she kept passing comments that we really couldn't expect much for that budget, but she'd have to see what she could do etc

Another friend of mine asked her if she could re-model a ring for her (the diamond had been her grandmother's) and she was very dismissive about the quality of it etc-for this girl, it was all about the sentimental aspect of it and she didn't like Sharon's attitude at all

Different strokes for different folks I suppose-if you found her good, fantastic. I personally found somebody who I think was far better in terms of service and value

Wow I'm amazed that €8k wouldnt be considered a good budget. I think I've read somewhere recently, possibly Her.ie or similar, that the average is about €3k in Ireland.

That is a good budget for a ring, some people in the industry are obviously trying to take advantage and pressure people into spending over their budget.

I just don't think I'd find a person credible anymore if they told me €8k wasn't a good budget so its a risky strategy.

Am looking at buying an engagement ring from e-jewels. Is everyone that purchased still happy? Any updates?

I have to say that we bought an engagement ring from Sharon a couple of years ago and we found the process pretty easy. She gave a professional personalised service and the ring and the price were excellent. She was also very friendly so I'm a little surprised at chocfan's comment but that was certainly not my experience. I even recommended her to my mother who came up from Dublin and got a ring from her!

You're getting "value for money" because the diamonds are only HRD certified.

    "HRD CERTIFICATION
HRD (Hoge Raad voor Diamant) is a diamond grading organization based in Europe. Not generally regarded as a legitimate alternative in the United States, HRD still claims to be the authority for diamond grading in the world.

Over the years, we have experienced incredible inconsistency with HRD grading. They usually average about two Color and/or Clarity grades above the GIA’s grading. HRD graded diamonds are usually priced much higher than equivalent diamonds graded by the GIA. This allows for significant profits to be made by diamond companies.

To offer a comparison between HRD grading and other labs, we sent four stones to various lab entities. In the chart below, you can see HRD graded the same four diamonds better than the GIA in the categories of Color and Clarity: two highly subjective grades.

The clear difference between the grading demonstrates that it’s not prudent to compare apples to apples among lab entities. Simply put, an F Color grading given by HRD will not mean the same as a GIA F Color diamond. The price you’ll pay for an HRD diamond will not compare to the value and quality of a GIA graded diamond—even if it’s a grade or two higher"

We used Voltaire Diamonds are can highly recommend them.
