this is rubbish deal compare to moto g or vodafone smart 3

The S3 Mini is a much better phone than the Vodafone, and while the Moto G isn't that much bigger it is bigger and not everyone wants a bigger phone.

Hi there, was hoping to order one for my mum as an xmas present (she's a Vodafone PAYG user). This is a pay-as-you-go offer, right? Can you buy one for someone else? Any idea why the T&Cs specifically call out 12 or 18 month contracts?
    14. Upgrade Online: By accepting this upgrade you are entering a new 12 or 18 month contract (Vodafone will confirm the applicable minimum term in advance). Discounts are calculated on the basis of time since last upgrade and/or spend over the past 12 or 18 month period.

Had the xperia s up until a few months ago until it visited the toilet fairy, picked up the samsung mini s3 as a stop gap phone and it is twice the phone. Im Samsung in future unless sony do something really cool with sony phones and the ps4!! Well worth the money

If you know someone on Vodafone bill pay and with more than 2 paid bills they can get the unlock code for you.
Any other way will void the warranty.

No it won't. Rooting a phone doesn't void the warranty.

Rooting and installing a custom ROM does indeed void the warranty. Unlocking the phone to be sim free doesn't.

I expect you'd be going to the Small Claims to get that honored.

Missed the deal but bought one in The Carphone Warehouse at full price E149.

Was shocked at the price of the covers. Anyone got a site that I might pick one up for at a reasonable price

    I purchased this

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390539569427?var=660114306335

I am using the BT11AA trick to get it delivered or its £3.75 postage to Ireland.

I found out about it in the Freebie list thread so I am not taking credit for it.

N.B Item must be delivered by Royal Mail.

At the end of the ROI delivery address in the postcode put BT11AA. You more than likely will have to select UK as the country
The item gets sent to the Belfast sorting office and they (90% of the time) redirect it to the south. I say 90% as I have used this about 10 times and one item from play.com never arrived as they may not have used royal mail. I took a chance on that one.
It can take up to 2 weeks for it to arrive.

If you know someone on Vodafone bill pay ask them to unlock it for you.
As long as they have been with Vodafone for a while they will be entitled to it.

    https://www.vodafone.ie/myv/services/login/login.jsp?redirect=/myv/mymobile/phoneanddevice/nac/mynac/index.jsp

It will simply ask for the IMEI number of the phone and immediately give you the unlock code.
Don't bother ringing them just use the above link.

Ah but yes, anyone on prepay who spends over a certain amont every 6 months can do it too. It might be something like €120. The same link could be used.
