    Hi,

I am looking for a workshop that will be able to change the gearbox and transferbox on my Porsche Cayenne.

The workshop should be in or around Cork.

    Any recommended place?

I have no idea of they work on auto boxes, but Des Golden motors in Wilton do a lot of work on high end German motors. I was only there once but he seemed to know his stuff and, iirc, he had a Cayenne himself although I couldn't swear to it.

I'm pretty sure these use the same 'box as the Touareg and Q7 in which case they are pretty easy to do. Get the filter changed as well as the fluid.

John Dooley out towards the Viaduct does a lot of big German kit as well. He also has Kevin the Genius, overalled Diagnostics King.

I doubt they use the same gearbox.
The engine (V8) and the gearbox (Tiptronic S) is from Porsche.

But at the end of the day, also based on some DIY threads online, it shouldnt be difficult to replace the fluids.

I just want to be on the safe side.

Filter is already ordered from the UK.

Will you let us know how you get on. Always wanted a porsche later on, but the thoughts of driving to dublin just to service it always puts me off.

Be interested who does the work on your cayman and is it costly ?

Autodata shows the same drain and refill points as the Q7. Neither Porsche or VW make their own auto boxes so it would be quite likely that both use the same gearbox as they are based on the same platform.
