Failure to display Tax Disc court question

    Hi
I'd appreciate any advice or experience people have for me,

I bought a car in June of this year, bought it from a garage so they sent away the log book but gave me a slip to display re tax,
I was parked in a council run public car park with the note from the garage and a note written by myself displayed stating I was awaiting the log book,
Got a ticket for not displaying tax disc
Log book arrived the next week, I taxed the car paying back tax (arrears) to the start of the month I got the car, I got a print out from the tax office stating this,
I sent a letter of appeal to the council with the print out I had gotten, and thought no more of it until last week when I got a summons for court this friday
I am really spooked about court, has anyone had a similar experience, what is likely to happen?
    Thanks!

it's an offence not to display a disc whatever the circumstances and you didn't actually have one to display.

your only course of action is to go to the court with all your documentation and explain to the Judge, he MAY strike out the case but you are in fact guilty and have no real defence.

if you are lucky, the Judge will be mad with the Warden for wasting his time.
