thinking of getting the following laptop, expert advice required.

hi, iv been looking at getting a laptop for a while now but the xps has given up the ghost after 6 years and iv to make a decision now. i was looking at the following lenovo but i don't know much about them. are they reliable, well built?

Lenovo (formally IBM) especially their ThinkPad business range is renowned for quality (by many) - their consumer lines should be up there with other competition.

I recently purchased the Yoga 2 Pro (ultrabook) having lived with a 3Kg 16.4" Sony Vaio multimedia for 5 years - really like the form factor - so much more practical (for me) than the larger laptop - but you pays a premium.

It looks to be the same as the Z500 that is on the official Lenovo Page, bar the slight RAM different. This is according to a brief glance I took at the specs on both amazon (6GB RAM) and the official store (8GB).

If it is in fact the same laptop, the price difference is huge, €1,180.80 on the Official Lenovo Store vs the approx €640 - 650 on amazon (Might want to clarify this on Google or the amazon rate of exchange).

I'd go with amazon, if this is correct.

Anyone else care to backup my analysis, or did I miss something else?

thanks for the feedback folks, just ordered it tonight, slightly higher than the advertised price due to the highter vat rate in ireland v uk. free delivery though so cant complain at all. seems iv got great value with this laptop. first thing to do will be installing windows 7 onto it

Surprised it doesn't have a Gigabit Lan port for that spec, seems to be 10/100 or is that an error.
