    I had a wheel stand pro: http://wheelstandpro.com/products/info
Obviously not as flash as the one with the seat, but it's very well made and very solid. Easily able to deal with the force feedback of a logitech DFGT.

Agreed on the WheelStandPro, have one myself and it's a quality piece of kit. Have the old Driving Force Pro hooked up to it and works very well.

I desperately need some sort of rig setup, that one wouldn't solve my problem though. My problem at the moment is I keep pushing myself away from the table when I brake, so I'm constantly shuffling my chair forward during a lap. I need to atach my chair to the pedals.

I want to build something that's a rig and a desk though. I'm hoping one the oculus comes out I can get away with a fairly minimal setup.

Thanks for the responses but I don't think a stand would work. With the way the room is laid out id end up sitting on the edge of the bed or a kitchen chair if I don't get the seat too.

Pushing yourself away from the table? Does your chair have wheels :D
The pedals attached into the wheel stand pro, it will stay in place. You get the shaft to come up between your legs (ohhh, matron) and spend a bit of time getting it set up exactly right, you'll be grand.

It is fairly big, and takes up a bit of room when folded too.

The stand or chair I was looking at?

No I have clubsport pedals though which use a pressure sensor, I reduced the pressure needed on them but I'd prefer to keep it strong. It's just a normal kitchen table chair.

I don;t know about the other person in the thread, but space isn't an issue for me, it's more just positioning.

Thanks for that. I think I'm going to have to put the idea on hold for a bit until I get a gaming PC. The laptop plays F1 2013 on almost ultra settings on everything on it's 13 inch 720p screen but struggles on my 32inch 1080p tv, so I think I'll be leaving it for a bit.

    What about this?

It's plans to do build it yourself. Full sized plans so you can just draw onto wood and cut out yourself!

I was looking at that but I'd say that would work out as expensive and not as good. I'll probably wait until I get a new PC and until codemasters take the s*** out of the f1 games like slicing noises when you go over kerbs and wind noises when you don't have DRS open, I can't understand how they consider that realistic.

Codemasters were once the best racing sim makers by a mile, but they've lost it. I wouldn't hold my breath. Thing is, dirt 2 was great car handling, but the game layout was woeful. It was brilliant with the wheel, but really hard with the joypad. I reckon if they had the same graphics and car physics in dirt 2, but the game layout of colin mcrae 1 or 2 (just straight up rally stages from different countries) you'd have a great game.
Grid 2 is rubbish, closer to need for speed than a proper driving game.
TBH, if you want a decent racing sim, I think you have to go to the PC. Forza and GT look great, but are a bit lacking. There must be a few decent pc games there.

For a good sim look at Assetto corsa or Rfactor2 and for a rig. Buy some MDF and build one and buy a seat from a scrap yard. Plenty of ideas here. http://www.thewayiplay.com/mainforum/index.php?action=forum. and pics of mine, It cost about €50 for the rig and screen but the seat was a bit more but worth it.stp67345.jpgstp67348.jpg

Very nice. Do you have you sim set up through the projector then. Does it look as good ? Just bought the oculus but needs a bitta work before I,d be happy with it. What you race, iracing ?

Yes I only race with the projector in 3D, It looks very good with the 3D with a 1 to 1 FOV. i have almost all of the sim's out but family is stopping me from driving at the moment. I'm taking a break from Iracing as well for a year or two but could sub again when the Rift consumer version is out.
