ASH display on ferguson ariva 250 combo box

    Hi there somebody might be able to help me. On powering up ariva combo box i get ASH displayed on box screen. I believe i need to reset/re install the software to fix. My research indicates i need a null modem cable or rs232 cable to connect pc to box. My software vesion is v1.18b6. Can somebody tell me where i can get the software to reinstalll and how i might do it. Im not to computer savy...

    Thanks a mil GBCULLEN will try this. My own laptop dosnt have male serial port so will have to get null modem cable and suitable pc. Im assuming as i didnt see any reference to same that i can upload latest version of software even though my version is older.

    u upload the new version when your rebooting it from the null modem and eprom . if u cant do it and its under warranty send it back to be done

    mine is out of warranty and havnt got to fix it yet

    Thanks a mill will try this. Thought i had null modem cable but its actually a serial one need to modify or purchase new one. Again thanks for all the advise, its my first time using the forum and i think its very informative. Rob

    look at cpc for the cable, its cheap and best

    the usb to serial leads dont tend to work so u need a machine with the connection

    Yes, and just be aware that it is quite difficult to get a lappy or pc with an rs 232 socket. I have the same problem with a different box and its a bitch to get the correct machine.:mad:

    The older machines with Windows XP are, I believe, the last generation to have the socket.

    Thanks guys, for me i can access pc with serial connector in work so not an issue. Just need to source the cable (male to male adapter and null cable which has male to female) which can be purchased in cpc for less than 5 euro +pp. 22euro over the counter in a tech supply shop in cork. Its always nice to do it yourself and hoping it works
