    If I buy a bond a week before the interest is due, do I get the interest?

    You get the interest but the person you buy it from will likely charge a price to effectively compensate them for holding the bond for the last 355 days. You pay the "dirty" price for the bond which is the "clean" price plus any accrued interest.
