Buying second iphone

    i want to buy a second hand iphone over on adverts.ie but im meteor and its on the 3 network, ill need to get it unlocked to work with my sim!! the last time i bought an iphone on adverts , i was told anything and i tired to hook it up to my mac ,and it just blocked again

    what should i look out for, any tips and hints?? i just dont want the same thing to happen again you know , i want to be able to to updates etc

    It's okay, the iPhone can be discussed here as well. God knows there's enough Mac-related threads in Apple Devices and I'm getting tired of reporting them.

    Buying a phone locked to another network isn't really a great idea but there are apparently eBay sellers who can unlock it worldwide. You're taking a risk, and if it were me, I'd rather just buy one locked to my own network.

    Just sold an unlocked iPhone 4S AVA on friday. It's very simple, just ask the buyer to prove it's unlocked before handing money over ie bring your sim. It was even simpler to unlock, filled out a webform on three.ie and was unlocked within 48 hours.
