'Saturday with...' vs its predecessor, 'Saturday View'

The Saturday View, last presented by Rachel English, was axed from the Radio 1 schedule in 2011, after 25+ years, and replaced with a sketch-show by Oliver Callan, and a round-table with Charlie Bird. With the arrival of Kevin Bakhurst, a show, identical to the previous, was reinstated, called Saturday with Claire Byrne (as Byrne is on maternity leave, Brian Dowling is currently presenting it).

My reason for the thread is that, if one compares the guests on these two shows, Saturday View clearly outperforms its replacement in terms of diversity and quality.

    Saturday with... Podcasts

Has anyone an opinion on why that may be the case?

As an aside: when her show was axed, English was accommodated on Morning Ireland. It's interesting that her successor on Saturdays, Byrne, will get to keep her old job when she turns-up alongside English.
