I was wondering can you mess up anything by changing the letter that a drive is on like will it mess up your operating system or anything, just wondering because i rather not lose everything :P

It is likely that the registry entries for any installed applications will reference the drive they were installed on, as will any short cuts on the desktop and programmes in the list of programmes. Also most of the start up services are likely to be referenced by drive letter either directly or indirectly via the registry.

If it's just a data directory the only effect will be the recently opened files will reference the original directory.
