I used to use evostik. Same stuff as they use in marts. You can buy a small red tin of it for about €12. Use latex gloves as it's a job to get it off your hands. Also don't leave the tin in the shed as the frost ruins the glue.

They do fall off sometimes especially indoors with cubicles. But a tip I learned is the patch needs to be warm before you apply it. Stick it in your pocket for a few minutes before applying it. It will help it stick and stay on much better.

Absolutely, they need the bit of heat. Clip the hair a bit too helps it key in. I used them for one season on heifers outside. I never had any problems with them coming off, but plenty of problems with the scratchcards getting scratched by hedges.

+1 the evostik impact adhesive works. You can get it in a tube like a tooth paste tube and just squeeze gently and spread over the whole thing.
The patches you have need heat and lose stickiness if they cool. Put them inside your shirt until your ready to stick them.
